Welcome to Traxed Help

A summary of the operations you can perform via the Traxed web interface.

Traxed web interface is a platform that allows any company to save immutable data to a blockchain. Immutable data allows a company to self-certify anything, without the need for expensive third-party certifiers.

There are 3 kinds of data that can be saved:

  • Company data
  • Product data
  • Supply Chain data

Company data
Company data identifies the company. It's required only once, the first time you use Traxed.

Product data
Product data represents a company product. It's required whenever a new product is added to Traxed.
Any company can add an unlimited number of products.
A product can also be any piece of data, not just a physical product. For example, a public manifesto is considered a product on Traxed.

On Traxed, we call a product any data from your company, whether it represents a physical product or not. A list, a policy, a screwdriver, a contract or a machinery, they're all products.

Supply Chain data
Supply Chain data represents the link between 2 products coming from 2 different companies. In such a scenario a product is the supplier and another product is the client.
The entire chain of multiple supplier-client links creates the supply chain on Traxed.
Each supplier-client link must be confirmed by both companies to become effective, in order to avoid errors and fake links.
There is no limit to the number of supplier-client links that can be created.

As easy as one-two-three

The logic behind Traxed is simple:

  1. Sign up by saving your company data (thus creating a company profile)
  2. Add a product
  3. Link the product to another product (thus creating a supply chain)

Repeat steps 2. and 3. as desired.

Organize yourself

A company is free to use Traxed at its own desire. A supply chain for each product, a general supply chain for the whole company, just a public manifesto that all its business partners must adhere to, a simple link between 2 products to confirm some details, some questionnaires that all its business partners must respond to, a mix of all these... it's up to the company to decide.

Don't you care about supply chains?

Your products can stand alone, without a supply chain. In such a scenario you can use Traxed to certify a single product or even your entire company by writing its characteristics or commitments on the blockchain.
And if you want, you can add your supply chain data later.

Multiple accounts

A company might decide to manage as many Traxed accounts as there are sections of the company. One account for the purchasing department, one for the sustainability department, one for the marketing department...

Getting Started

What you need to get started.

To use Traxed you need a free sotfware, usually called "wallet", to interact with the blockchain. Traxed is compatible with MetaMask, one of the most secure and used wallets.

The wallet is used to:

  • Identify you (without the need for the traditional email/password pair)
  • Write data on the blockchain
  • Read data from the blockchain

The wallet is also used to pay our fees (if you have opted for the Self Service plan) and to pay the transaction cost. The transaction cost is not our fee, but a little fee paid to the blockchain operator to keep the blockchain up and running.

So, the first thing you need to do is to download MetaMask. Go to the MetaMask website and download it.

After downloading, create an account on MetaMask, carefully following all the instructions.

As soon as you have an account on MetaMask you are ready to start operating on Traxed. Just select the Start button or the Test Mode button you find on Traxed home page at www.traxed.club

Hey, wait a minute!
Which button should I choose, Start or Test Mode?

The Start button is for paying users while the Test Mode button is for users who want to try Traxed for free.

Try before using

With blockchain technology any data you save is immutable, so be careful before saving it.

That's why, at first, we recommend you try Traxed by selecting the Test Mode button which allows you to enter the Traxed platform and automatically activates the Test Mode.

On the other hand, the Start button allows you to enter the Traxed platform but leaves the Test Mode deactivated.

After entering the Traxed platform, you can activate/deactivate the Test Mode at will by selecting a dedicated command.

Either the Start or the Test Mode buttons will take you to the Company Profile page.

Company Profile

Your company data.

As soon as you reach the Company Profile page you have to connect Traxed with the wallet. The wallet connection procedure allows Traxed to securely communicate with your account on MetaMask. It's like a login process, only faster and more secure.

So, locate the Connect button, click it and follow the instructions that appear on the wallet.

As soon as the wallet is connected, the Connect button changes to show that you are connected.

You can now add your company data and save them on the blockchain. The procedure of saving your company data (sign up) must be completed only once, the first time you use Traxed. The next time you connect the wallet, your company data will be retrieved directly from the blockchain and you will be logged in, easily and securely.

Saving your company data is the first step on Traxed. Nothing else can be done if you don't save your company data.

Saved Company Profile

After saving your company data you will find some additional information and commands:

  • Company Wallet Address
  • Invitation
  • Invoices
  • On Behalf
  • Notification email
  • Domain verification
  • Showcase

Company Wallet Address
The Company Wallet Address is an alphanumeric code that identifies your company. It's public data, something like an email address that other companies need to identify you in any supply chain scenario. The Blockchain button allows you to check how the Company Wallet Address was written on the blockchain. The verification is carried out by an external website, in order to demonstrate the authenticity of the data. By selecting the calendar icon you can retrieve the creation date from the blockchain. Provide the Company Wallet Address to your business partners whenever they ask for it. You can copy the Company Wallet Address by selecting the Copy Code command. You can provide the Company Wallet Address to a business partner by selecting the Send Code command.

Invitation
The Invite command allows you to send an invitation to use Traxed to all the companies you partner with.

Invoices
Every payment (if any) you make with traditional currencies is listed in this section.

Invoices are visible only if the Test Mode is deactivated.

On Behalf
If you are using our "On Behalf" feature to give some of your partners free access to Traxed by paying on their behalf, you can find the details in this section.

On Behalf details are visible only if the Test Mode is deactivated.

The Pay on Behalf feature can be useful if you want your business partners (whether they are clients or suppliers) to use Traxed, but you don't want to burden them with our fee.

Notification email
The Notification email is the email address where you receive a notification whenever a technical operation needs to be completed.

Domain verification
The domain is one of the parameters that are part of your profile. It defaults to a Not verified state. If you want your company to become a verified user, thus obtaining the Verified badge, follow the instructions on the company profile page. You can proceed with the domain verification procedure later, at any time. The Verified badge is useful if you plan to make your supply chain public, perhaps because your product is retailed.

Showcase
The Showcase is your dedicated page that lists all the certifications you have obtained on Traxed. The page is accessible only to those who know the code of your showcase. A handy way to use the showcase is to add a button on your website that links to the code you can copy with the specific command.

The Company Profile page can be reached by selecting the Company link.

Add Product

How to add a product.

Before creating a supply chain you need to add a product. Whether your product is intended for retail sale or to be supplied to another company, you have to save it on Traxed.

Even if your product has no supply chain it can be added to Traxed. In such a case its entire supply chain will be represented by the product alone.

To add a product select the Add Product link.

Each product you add has its own supply chain. You can add an unlimited number of products.

What type of product do you want to add?

On Traxed, we call product any data from your company, whether it represents physical data or not, so feel free to add whatever your business requires. The product can either stand alone or be linked to a product from another company to form a supply chain. The products are divided by type, so the first step is to select the type of the product you want to add.

img Simple
Simple is a stand-alone document that you want to save on the blockchain.

img Standard
Standard is a product that you can link to another product from another company in any supply chain scenario.

img Manifesto
Manifesto is a document that your partners can adhere to.

img Questionnaire
Questionnaire is a list of questions that your partners can answer and comment on.

How do you want your partners to interact?

Some products provide the possibility of interaction between users. This interaction is represented by a digital signature which can be of two types:

Facilitated Signature
By facilitated signature we mean a signature made in Web2.0 mode. To interact, your partners simply click on a link they receive by email.

Standard Signature
By standard signature we mean a signature made in Web3.0 mode using MetaMask. To interact, your partners click on a link they receive by email, but they are required to have MetaMask installed and to be Traxed users.

Automatic Translation

If the product allows it, you can use the automatic translation feature. With this feature you don't have to worry about the language to use to write the product, use the one that is most convenient for you. Traxed will automatically translate it if your partners speak a different language.

Attachment

Some products allow you to attach a file to get it notarized. The file will be an integral part of the product you are adding.

Questionnaire

The questionnaire is a special product that you can add on Traxed.

You can divide your questionnaire into sections, so it will be easier for those who answer. Each section contains questions that you can add by selecting the dedicated button.

The questionnaire can be designed to have a YES or NO answer, or it can have a range of answers that respondents can select from.

Depending on how you set up the questionnaire, each question has some special features:

Highlight
When you select the Highlight command, your question will be highlighted to alert those who answer, perhaps beacuse the question is about a hot topic.

Normal/Important
Each question is associated with a score and you can decide the value of the YES answer.

YES +
By selecting this command you declare that your question requires an additional answer when the previous answer is YES.

Draft

Since saving on the blockchain is an immutable process, for some products you can optionally save a draft and save the product on the blockchain later, when you are confident in the data you are storing.

You can find all the products you've added in the Products page.

Products

The list of your products.

To see all the products you have added, select the Products link.

Common functions

You can find the total number of added products near the page title.

On the Products page you have at your disposal a few handy functions:

Show archived products
Archived products are by default hidden. You can choose to show them by selecting the Show archived products button that, once selected, changes into Hide archived products. Archived products, if visible, have a different background color to be easily recognizable. You can find the total number of archived products near the button.

Search
Search for your product(s). You can modify the search mechanism through a dedicated selector, which allows you to enter the name or code of the product you are looking for or the user's email address to find the products they have been invited to.

Product-dependent functions

Each product has some useful functions:

By selecting the calendar icon you can retrieve the creation date from the blockchain.

Manage
To manage all product features such as its supply chain or associated QR code, select the Manage button that will take you to the Product Management page.

Archive/Recover
To archive a product just select the Archive link. If you have selected the Show archived products button, archived products can be recovered by selecting the Recover link.

Product Management

How to manage a product and its supply chain.

You can manage all product features and associated supply chain after selecting the associated Manage button that you find on the Products page.

First of all, a little explanation about suppliers and clients. If you want to jump straight to the features for managing a product, go here.

Suppliers and Clients

Each product has its own suppliers and clients, which means that each product has its own supply chain. Suppliers and clients are not companies, they are products:

  • A supplier is a product, provided by another company, that you use to create your product.
  • A client is a product, produced by another company, that you provide with your product.
Supplier
>>>
Client
Example:
Let's say a company produces flour and another company produces bread. The flour is the supplier and the bread is the client.
Flour
>>>
Bread

Infinite supply chain
In the supply chain, a product can be a supplier for one product and a client for another product.

>>>

Example:
Let's say a company produces bread, another company produces flour, and another company grows cereals. The flour is both the supplier for the bread and the client for the cereals.

Unlimited supply chain
A product can have an unlimited number of suppliers and clients. A product can also have only suppliers or only clients. Or neither.

The supplier-client link

The supply chain is made up of an unlimited number of supplier-client links. Each link must be accepted by both parties to become active. If you declare your product is linked to another product, the owner of the other product must confirm the link.

In this scenario there's a requestor (who initiates the link) and a confirmator (who confirms the link). Both the supplier and the client can be the requestor and the confirmator. It doesn't matter who goes first: the supplier confirms the client, or the client confirms the supplier.

The link is initiated by the requestor by simply adding a supplier or a client to its product. Afterwards, the confirmer confirms the link. After confirmation, the supplier-client link becomes active, therefore visible in the supply chain.

Product features

Each product can be managed through a series of features.

Not all features are available for all product types.

Blockchain

The Blockchain button allows you to check how your data was written on the blockchain. The verification is carried out by an external website, in order to demonstrate the authenticity of the data. By selecting the calendar icon you can retrieve the creation date from the blockchain.

You can copy the Autolink code by selecting the Copy Code button.

Your business partners simply need to enter the Autolink code into their browser's address bar.

QR Code

Each product is identified by a unique QR code. Those who scan the QR code can read all the data regarding the product.

Only confirmed supplier-client links appear in the supply chain, so only confirmed supplier-client links are visible by scanning the QR code.

If the QR code is not made public, the associated supply chain remains private.

To access the QR code and download it, select the QR Code button.

QR Code Preview

You can preview the product data by selecting the QR Code Preview button. What you get is the same as scanning the QR code.
